new competition
Interior Design Masters bursts onto
our screens this week in a swirl of
bright colours and bold patterns.
Presented by Fearne Cotton, the
eight-part series sees design expert
Michelle Ogundehin act as judge,
with 10 up-and-coming designers
competing to win a life-changing
contract at a top London hotel.
Each week, the contestants will be
set a different commercial challenge,
ranging from shops to hair salons- then Michelle and a guest judge
(including Mary Portas, Jade Jagger
and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen)
will decide who has room to
improve and who’s out of the race.

Here Fearne, 37, tells us more...What appealed to you most
about this show?
Interiors have always been massively
exciting to me. The way you can
change the feel of a home, create
warmth, space or comfort by using
colour and texture – it’s really quite
magical. I also hugely respect our
head judge, Michelle, so I knew it
would be a corker of a show!Are there any standout moments?
Yes, so many! Without giving too
much away, one of the finalists’
apartments is stunning. I instantly
started taking notes of ideas to
recreate at home. In one episode,
designer Sophie Robinson, known
for her love of colour, helps Michelle
judge. Since meeting her I’ve painted
our hallway, conservatory, and my
son’s bedroom in vibrant colours!
