Kathy Burke’s All Woman
● DOCUMENTARY / 10pm / C4

NEW

Actress Kathy Burke presents
this funny, refreshing three-part
documentary, which explores what it
really means to be a woman in 201 9. With
episodes tackling motherhood, sex and
relationships, the series opens with a
look at beauty and image, and the lengths
some women will go to achieve physical
perfection. Kathy chats to famous faces,

including Lucian Freud’s muse Sue Tilley,
as well as Love Island’s Megan Barton-
Hanson, who’s spent around £ 4 0,000
transforming her looks. Kathy also visits a
plastic surgeon to consider ‘freshening up’
her face but, at a cost of £20,000, decides
she’ll keep her ‘double chin, saggy neck
and old jowls’! A joy to watch, thanks to
Kathy’s quips and insights. ★★★★★ RM

Inside the Factory
● FACTUAL / 8pm / BBC2
Gregg Wallace is in France at the biggest
croissant factory in the world to see how
this iconic and delicious breakfast pastry is
made. The factory may produce 336,000
croissants every 2 4 hours, but the process
cannot be rushed. The dough has to be
rested, gently stretched and massaged to
ensure a perfectly plump and flaky result.

The key, Gregg discovers, is creating layers

  • 12, to be precise. Meanwhile, Cherry
Healey tests what happens when you mess
    with a croissant’s layers – the result isn’t
pretty, or tasty! Finally, historian Ruth
Goodman explores the history of the
croissant and the link between the French
    revolution and bread. ★★★ JL
