Mindhunter
● DRAMA / Netflix

NEW

Series one of
this dark drama
charted the early days of
FBI criminal profiling, as
two agents tried to solve
ongoing murder cases by
talking to imprisoned
killers in an attempt to
get inside the mind of a
murderer. They’re back in
this second series, along
with psychologist Wendy
Carr (Anna Torv), and
they’re investigating the
notorious Atlanta child
murders. ★★★★★ RM

More Than

a Manager
● DOCUMENTARY /
Netflix

In the week that Premier
League football returns, it
seems fitting to remember
one of its most-loved
managers, Bobby Robson,
who died 10 years ago this
Summer. This Netflix film
looks back at his career and
includes interviews with
José Mourinho (Bobby’s
assistant at Barcelona) and
Pep Guardiola, who cites
him as a major inspiration
in his own career. ★★★★ JP

Mortimer & Whitehouse:

Gone Fishing

● ENTERTAINMENT / 8pm / BBC2
As Paul tells Bob, the fishing rod was once
described as having ‘a worm at one end and
a fool at the other’. Fortunately there are two
very funny fools at the end of these rods,
and this week they’re in search of salmon
on the River Tay in Scotland. In between the
usual comic diversions, including Bob’s

Dustin Hoffman impression, there are
more meditations on life as Bob meets
an angler with cancer who finds fishing
therapeutic. In turn, Bob reveals that,
when he suffered from depression as a
young man, his love of football helped him
to recover. We’re still hooked. ★★★★ IM

Fantastic Beasts:

The Crimes of Grindelwald
● FILM / 8pm / Sky Cinema Premiere

PREMIERE The second in a five-movie saga
by JK Rowling, this continues
the adventures of Eddie Redmayne’s wizard
Newt Scamander, who travels to Paris to
take on evil Grindelwald (Johnny Depp).
There’s an awesome finale and a few magical

set-pieces before we get there, but there is
a complicated story that slows things down.
That said, Jude Law is great as a young
Dumbledore and a strong cast, including Zoë
Kravitz and Ezra Miller, help bring this to
life. ★★★ NP

Woodstock
● DOCUMENTARY / 10pm / BBC4

NEW

Fifty years ago this month, more than 4 00,000
people gathered at a small dairy farm in upstate
New York for a pop concert billed as ‘three days of peace
and music’ that has since taken on legendary status.
Interviews with those who were there, plus footage and
music of the era, are combined in this documentary, which
looks at the lead-up to those three historic days, as well as
the actual festival itself. Jimi Hendrix: The Road to
Woodstock is on afterwards at 11.25pm. ★★★★ TE
