Reflectingonthe

McLarengarage

Every team, including McLaren,

takes a lot of pride in the

cleanliness of their pitgarages.

Most ofthem are newly painted

before they arrive at the grand

prix and any marks are swiftly

removed during the weekend.

To capture this picture of

Carlos Sainz in Austria, I was

sitting at the back of thegarage

with the lens effectively on

the floor. With the direction

of the sunlight coming across

the pitlane it enabled Sainz’s

reflection to appear on the

shiny surface.

The only problemwas that I

was sittingwhere his mechanics

were about topull his car back

to. I had to take the shot and

then quickly scramble to my

feet and get out of the way.
