VJMC Japan Tour

on again

Following two successful organised tours to
Japan in 2015 and 2017, VJMC vice president
Jeff Eeles has announced a third, for 2021.
Currently, two options are being considered –
the Suzuka 8 Hour Race (usually in July) or the
Japanese Moto GP event (usually in October).
As in the past, the tour will be around 14
days.  It will include tours to at least two
factory museums, with easy options to possibly
see all the ‘Big 4’ museums. There will be trips
to some places of cultural significance, such as
Kyoto and Hiroshima also. The final decision as
to which event will feature will be taken after
expressions of interest and a vote to Jeff at

Danny does Goodwood

Retired MotoGP star Danny Pedrosa will pull on leathers again for the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy
at the 2019 Goodwood Revival on September 13-15.
With 31 victories in MotoGP’s premier class, as well as 125cc and 250cc championship wins, Pedrosa will
forsake his usual Honda for a twin cylinder Paton, which he will share in the two-rider, two-leg event with
Spanish Revival regular Joaquin Folch Jr. The diminutive Spaniard is not the only star name in this year’s line
up. Current World Superbike rider Eugene Laverty, former MotoGP rider James Ellison, plus Isle of Man TT
winners Mick Grant, Charlie Williams and Iain Diffus will be in the field. Current TT lap record holder Peter
Hickman will be aboard a Manx Norton, 2019 Supersport TT winner Lee Johnston on an MV Agusta, while TT
star Dean Harrsion will ride a Matchless G50. 23-times TT winner John McGuinness will pilot another Matchless
G50, while Michael Dunlop has a Manx Norton.

Lovelies on the lake

At the incredibly spiffy and exclusive Villa
d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza on the shores of
beautiful Lake Como in northern Italy, BMW
Group invited Nmoto to display their new
Nostalgia model alongside their incredibly
rare and historic R7.
Brought out from the Munich museum
especially for this exclusive event, the 1934
prototype is a one-off model created by the
Bavarian firm just before World War II that was
subsequently lost for nearly 70 years. Considered
by many to be the motorcycle equivalent of the
Mona Lisa, the R7 is the impetus and inspiration of the new
Nmoto, which is based on the current, award-winning BMW R
Nine T. Consisting of 96 handcrafted parts, the NMoto offers
gorgeous Art Deco style with wholly modern performance and
reliability. It’s unlike anything else on the market today and is
available in a limited production series.
The Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza is an annual show in the
tradition of the first concours d’elegance held here in 1929.
Celebrating the beauty, design and lifestyle of motoring, the
glamorous festival is attended by – in addition to automotive
enthusiasts – celebrities, fashion scions, business moguls and
industry executives. For more details and information,
