swans, birds, waves,” she says of the beautiful
property they bought two years ago. An interior
designer by trade, Monique began to put her
stamp on things immediately.
“We renovated and decorated it completely.
I’m delighted every time I step into our home.
Every morning after breakfast we take a long
walk on the shore and go for a swim at our private
beach, which is marvellous. It makes for really
special holidays. It’s so peaceful and there’s
nobody for miles around. The lake is stunning at
any time of year. I love the water so much that as
soon as I reach it I jump right in.”
QUALITY OF LIFE
Tina Turner famously owns a house on Lake
Zurich, too. And for Monique, the location is key.
“It’s a wonderful place,” she says of Zurich, which
is celebrated for having one of the best qualities
of life in the world and a university responsible
for producing more than 20 Nobel
prizewinners, among them Einstein.
