lassic American car fans are usually
contemplating putting their cars away for
the winter by the end of September... but
not so fast, as Sunday,September 29 marks the
date of the Horsham Ameri-Car-Na (see what
they did there?!) when the town is transformed
into aSusse xversion of Route 66. The organisers
have seen the event, now in its third year,
grow in popularity,with this autumn’soffering
promising to be the biggest yet.
Attractions include large displays of cars over
three zones, featuring classic cruisers in the town
centre, as well as hot rods and customs and
pick-ups. Meanwhile, over in Horsham Park
there’ll be displays of muscle cars, American
motor bikes, Jeeps, movie cars and modern
Americans. Each zone has its own performance
stage, stalls and street food.
The organisers promiseahost of activities and
entertainment for all the family,such asmusic,
dance and street theatre. There are even displays
of American football, baseball, 10-pin bowling
and, best of all, it’sbeen put together for a
good cause, as the event is run for and with St
Catherine’sHospice,which will benefit from all
