CANADA’S CLAIMS TO FAME
OUR GREAT COUNTRY IS HOME TO LOTS OF
INTERESTING PEOPLE AND PLACES, SOME FAMOUS,
OTHERS WELL-KEPT SECRETS.

LIVING THE HIGH LIFE
While most people know the
CN Tower is the highest building in
Canada, did you also know it’s the
site of what’s known as an Extreme
Urban Adventure? It’s called Edge-
Walk and it’s the first attraction of its kind in North America.
Guinness World Records has designated it the ‘Highest
External Walk on a Building.’ Visitors walk in groups of six,
while attached to an overhead safety rail. For almost half an
hour you get to walk “hands free” on an outside ledge around
the CN Tower. At one point, participants lean out over the
edge, backwards—whoa! The guided activity is operated
between May and October in all weather conditions, except
for electrical storms and high winds.

JOYFUL FAREWELL
Kona, my little eight-pound
Shih Tzu, sat outside on her lawn
chair enjoying the last days of
camping before we were to pack
up our RV for the season. The trees
were skirted by pools of gold-
en, amber and scarlet-coloured
leaves. Our campground manager
worked for hours to blow all the
fall leaves into large heaps ready
for pick up. Wanting to capture
the last moments, I went out with
my camera to take some fall shots
of my little dog. Then she saw the
leaves—and started running! As
she bounded forward, her face
lit up, her eyes widened and her

ears flopped around in the cool
autumn air. Displacing the pile of
leaves, Kona was ever so delighted
with her accomplishment! The
pure joy on her face matched my
own expression; I was thrilled to
capture these shots as a lasting
memory.
