A NEW DAWN
After 15 years at United Square—and building a strong clientele
base in its time there—Caratell has made the bold decision
to shift to a bigger premise at Handy Road. While bidding
farewell to its former location in the Novena area may be a tad
painful—it’s after all where the award-winning jeweller fi rst set
up shop—the thought of providing its customers a brand-new
immersive retail experience gives co-founders, Michael Koh and
Achillea Teng, an exciting future to look forward to. Known to
be gemstone enthusiasts, often embarking on arduous trips to
uncover rare stones that they use in their creations, they have
modelled their new boutique after a family home with different
enclaves decorated to resemble various parts of a residence.
Breaking down the conventional notion of a jewellery store
is key, notes Michael. “We want to provide our customers a
new experience, just like us welcoming them into our home.”
Likewise, its new creations challenge norms, offering its
customers novelty and fun when it comes to wearing jewellery.
