It is “not justice in any sense” to strip Isis fighters of their British citizenship rather than putting them on
trial, the government has been told. Diane Abbott, Labour’s shadow home secretary, said the UK has a duty
to deal with Jack Letts and other captured jihadis itself.


“Whenever there are reasonable grounds to suspect that someone who is entitled to return to this country
has either committed or facilitated acts of terrorism, they should be fully investigated and where
