Best Wishes
to Larne FC!

How did becoming the Chairman of Larne FC
come about?
I grew up and went to school in Larne with Kenny
Bruce. Kenny had moved away, been very successful
in the business world and had been approached to
invest in Larne FC, our hometown club, who were
somewhat down on their luck at the time. I was
involved behind the scenes with Glentoran FC when
Kenny approached me in July 2017, he sold me his
vision and asked me, would I ‘come back home’ to
help him lead this project as his Chairman. We met,
discussed the vision, dreams, aspirations and how
the project would be as much about the betterment
of our town and our people, as it was about building
a succesful football team. The rest as they say is
history, we are almost two years into the project now
and have made some fantastic strides towards the
goals set out in our five-year-plan.

What are your main duties and responsibilities in your role?
The main role really is as the figurehead of the club, helping lead
and deliver on the vision we have, to build a succesful, sustainable
football club whilst putting it at the hub of the Larne community.
Whether it be helping change mindsets around the club, raising
levels of professionalism in the boardroom, raising our profile in both
Irish football circles and beyond, improving our engagement with
the townsfolk and supporters or building relations in the business

community, I am heavilly involved. We have some great people and
volunteers in and around the club, we strongly believe in playing
everyone to their strengths and helping them to flourish.

What are the plans for the year ahead at Larne FC?
I don’t really comment on the playing side of things, that is very
much the remit of our manager, Tiernan Lynch. For me however, the
buzz words are ‘Progress’ and ‘Moving Forward’ both on and off the
pitch. On the pitch, we have been promoted to the Danske Bank
Premiership, we want to stay there, and want to finish as high up the
