table as we can. Off the pitch we want to continue to develop our
stadium to improve the overall match day experience for the fans,
we want to increase our levels of engagement with the fans through
our recently appointed Supporter Liason Officers; continue to grow
relations in the business community, promote and support the Larne
Football Club charity in its work and really importantly we have a
huge focus on investing and growing Larne Youth as the future of
our club. These are all key deliverables within our ‘Aspire2Inspire’
document and this is the guide that we are all working towards
delivering. We don’t go backwards.

What makes Larne FC unique?
I wouldn’t say we are unique to any other club in the Irish League,
we may be lucky however, in that we have someone like Kenny
Bruce backing and guiding us. With profile comes expectation and
pressure, both Tiernan and I are very clear on what is expected
from us and how we are expected to deliver on it. We know that to
be successful in making the club financially sustainable we have to
deliver a stadium and facility that we can monetize 365 days a year or
European football, eutopia would be both and as a board and a team
we are working collectively to deliver on these goals.

When did your love of football begin?
My first really clear memory was watching the 1978 World Cup Final
between Argentina and Holland, followed by the 1979 FA Cup Final
between Arsenal and Manchester United. My first game at Inver
Park was in 1979/80 to watch Larne against Cliftonville and after that
I was hooked. I went to most games at home during the early 80’s
and from about 1984 to 1991 I rarely missed a game, home, away,
Scotland, Donegal, you name it I was was there. During this time I
was very active in the Larne Football Supporters Club, helping with
the match programme ‘Inverview’ and being on the committee from I
was fourteen. My career took me away from Larne until I was enticed
back by Kenny after a twenty seven year sabatical. Well, they do say
you never forget your first love.
