I’ve been following Larne FC for 39 years now and
going into the new season will be my 40th and it’s
fantastic that it will be back in the premier league.What has been your most memorable moment
as a Larne FC fan?
There has been quite a few memorable moments
for me down the years but I suppose watching Paul Carland lift
the Ulster Cup which was our first senior trophy in 1987 beating
Coleraine 2-1 in the final, to the more recent last season winning the
championship to gain promotion back to the premier league was
very special too.
What are your predictions for the season ahead?
First and foremost is not to be relegated, then personally I would
settle for a mid-table finish or possibly pushing for a European play
off place. I’m expecting a much tougher season than last season but
confident we will do ok.
If you could choose any footballer to join Larne FC who would it
be?
I would love to see Gareth McAuley join us as he is a Larne man and
proud of where he is from and has a wealth of experience which he
could pass onto the rest of the team.
What makes Larne FC unique?
What makes us unique is we have our own special song called “Mary
had a little lamb” which we sing with pride and passion at home and
away matches, you have to come from Larne to know the words and it
is sang in many places around the world by people who are born and
bred in Larne.
