There is no stopping Conor Cole of Cole Groundworks. To add to his recent success, Cole has been
named in the Greater Newry Awards as the 2019 Young Entrepreneur of the Year.
Conor Cole, owner and founder of Cole Groundworks Contracts - a groundworks and civil
engineering company headquartered in Newry - set up the company in 2005 with just a handful of
employees. Now in 2019, Conor employs a large workforce across Ireland and the UK and most
recently has undertaken projects across Europe. The company delivers services to some of the biggest
named construction companies in the world including Bouygues UK, SIMEC Group, Green Bio Ltd and
Enisca.
In the last 18 months Conor has been honoured as High Achiever of the Year (Plant and Civil
Engineering Awards), Civil Engineering Company of the Year (Plant and Civil Engineering Awards) Top
40 Under 40 - The People’s Choice (Business First Awards) and All Star Rising Star (All Star Awards) and
Ulster Tatler’s Business Man of the Year. Winning Entrepreneur of the Year in his home town is a ‘dream
come true’ for Cole.
Conor said, “I am absolutely thrilled to win this award. It is lovely to receive such recognition in my
home town. The award may be ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’, but this award is all about my team.

The team have ambitious growth plans and have just opened a
state-of-the art office in Co Down and are committed to attracting
