JELLY
Just when we were about to call time’s up on
jelly textures being the skincare trend du jour,
they go and in ltrate makeup counters too. But
with these, it’s a case of don’t knock it until you
try it, with the latest arriving direct from South
Korea’s innovative incubator of beauty trends.
The bouncy, springy surface of these new
bronzers and highlighters is addictive, and the
smooth way they melt onto the skin when
tapped on with your ngers leaving a radiant
gleam is convincing too. They’re best worn
with equally dewy products, as when applied
over powder or matte foundations can have a bit
of a wet-puddle effect.

1 Revlon PhotoReady Glow Gelée in Good
As Gold and Dazzle, $28 each. 2 Too
Faced You’re So Jelly Highlighter in Bourbon
Bronze, $52.

OIL
After at least two decades of foundations
proudly touted as ‘oil-free’, the buzziest launch
in a long time is loaded with the stuff! If you
think of Kosas Tinted Face Oil ($72) as a hybrid
skincare product, the premise is easier to
consider: a blend of six botanical oils with a
lightweight touch of colour that’s easily applied
in seconds by applying it to your palm then
smoothing it onto your skin. The luminous
nish doesn’t feel overwhelmingly oily on as
long as you apply it sparingly, and suits those
who aren’t fans of full coverage or when warmer
weather means foundation feels claustrophobic.
With the comfort and hydration of a balm
and the shine of a gloss, lips are also currently
bene ting from oil formulations’ smooth, not
sticky, feel. Pretty popsicle hues in a see-
through base offer an uncontrived and
thoroughly modern alternative to lipstick.

1 Revlon Kiss Glow Lip Oil in Bouncy Beige,
$22. 2 MAC Shot of Colour Lip Oil in Hit
Me Up, Bang Bang Baby and Shock
Culture, $50 each.

PLUMPING
It’s an effect that’s delivered in one of
two ways: with intensely hydrating ingredients
that temporarily ll out ne lines, or with
slightly irritating ingredients such as
peppermint, capsicum and cinnamon that
induce tingling and increase blood ow,
making lips look larger and more colourful.
Combined with a mirror-like shine that creates
a luscious-looking pout, they’re a temporary
look that gives injectable lip llers a run for
their money.

1 La Mer The Lip Volumizer, $140. 2 Dior
Addict Lip Maximiser in Raspberry, $60.
3 Lancôme L’Absolu Gloss Rosy Plump, $58.
