EASY ON THE EYES

The colours
Pretty pinks dominated the spring and summer 2019
runways, with shades ranging from sheer candyfloss
to intense berry tints. This season’s colours are
feminine and floral. Look for lighter eyeshadow
palettes that combine nude tones, pinks, roses and
corals, with one or two lighter, mossy green options.

The trends
SUBTLE COLOUR POPS
Show off your fun side in a lower-key way with
coloured eyeliner. Full-on bright colours can be ageing
or look over the top, but a well-placed touch can
bring focus to the eyes, opening them up. This look is
casual, fun, creative and bang on trend. Choose lively,
bold shades and pastels to pair with nudes and apply
them as a precise cat-eye or neatly along the upper or
lower lash line.

MUTED METALLICS
Paired with an otherwise stripped-back, bare face,
subtle metallics can make a real impact. Women of
a certain age are usually advised against wearing
a lot of shimmery eye make-up – and we generally
agree. Go minimalist with this trend, choosing neutral,
champagne shades and products with micro-
pigments that won’t settle into fine lines and wrinkles.

MONOCHROME MAGIC
A big trend this season is wearing closely matched
shades and colours across the board – go
monochrome from your eyeshadow, cheeks and lips
to your nails. This perfectly matched effect can be
quite striking, so choose your colours carefully.
