INSIDER

CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG AT BONHAMS
Bonhams is exhibiting the most ambitious work
by British artist, cartoonist and inventor Rowland
Emett OBE, who created the flying car and
machines for classic film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
A Quiet Afternoon in the Cloud Cuckoo Valley
is an eight-metre long kinetic sculpture depicting
a train ride, originally created as a commission

for a shopping centre. It will be displayed in its
entirety and in full working-order at Bonhams,
101 New Bond Street, from August 12 to
September 3.
On the last day of the exhibition it will be
offered at a standalone auction, where it is
expected to attract a six-figure sum.

BENTLEY MEETS

SAVILE ROW

Berkeley Square’s Jack Barclay Bentley has
partnered with Savile Row tailor Huntsman to
create a limited edition Bentley Bentayga car.
The luxury motor features an interior made
from Huntsman Peck 62 tweed, inspired by an
original coat made for Gregory Peck; with two
editions of the exclusive motor available – The
Sportsman and The Businessman.
A bespoke wooden chessboard with a
Huntsman fabric drawer is installed in the
rear seat rest; and both brands’ logos are
embroidered into the design. Buyers of the car
will receive a bespoke Huntsman jacket, with a
lining made exclusively for Bentley Motors.
