S

ummer Streets returns for the seventh year
and, this season, will take place over three
months, the longest ever run of the festival.
This year marks Regent Street’s 200th
anniversary, so we are promised a line-up
befitting of such an auspicious occasion.
Taking place on Sundays throughout the summer, with
two still to go, on August 18 and September 15, prepare
for a jam-packed schedule celebrating the best of what
Regent Street has to offer, from food and fashion to
wellness and sustainability as well as plenty of music and
activities, both in-store and on the street with the entire
mile of style being traffic-free for everyone to enjoy the
restaurants and retailers at leisure.
The festival makes way for sustainability in August
with clothing upcycling workships from Molly Martin
and Fabrications and a food waste demonstration as part
of the Regent Street & St James’s Food Waste Pledge on
August 18, moving onto the return of the popular Speaker
Series, on September 15, featuring three fashion-focussed
talks. This year they will include discussions such as
Inclusivity in Fashion with models Felicity Hayward and
Kelly Knox and Artist Annalise Dayes, and Men’s Style in
2019 with menswear designer Charlie Casely-Hayford and
the stylish Jim Chapman on September 15.
Regent Street Stylists is also set to return offering
complimentary consultations with celebrity stylist Holly
White and noted magazine stylist, Chloe Forde.
While enjoying the festivities take advantage of
the food quarter, starting with a 200th anniversary
cocktail at Aqua Spirit, followed by a Hawksmoor Steak
Sandwich and finished off with a doughnut at Crosstown
Doughnuts.
