Paul Thomas
Paul Thomas trained with Mayfair-
based Kenneth Turner from 1981
and opened his own florist in
Shepherd Market in 1989, where he
was based for 25 years. His clients
include members of the royal family
and he is in-house florist at The Ritz.
Paul is now located in Battersea but
his signature bouquets are available
to buy from the Paul Thomas
Pavilion on South Audley Street,
which he is planning to turn into a
more permanent space. It will mark
a return to Mayfair 30 years after he
opened his first shop here.
Nominating him for an award, local
resident Diana Dennis said: “Paul
is a wonderful person. He did the
flowers for my husband’s funeral, he
did the flowers for my 80th birthday
at The Savoy. He’s absolutely top
and he works very, very hard to
keep that position.”

m ichael De cozar
Head hall porter at The Ritz,
Michael De Cozar has been
based at the five-star hotel for 45
years. Thought to be the longest
serving concierge in London,
he is loved by guests and staff
for his commitment, hard work,
endless charm and quick wit.
Dedicated to going the extra
mile, in the past he has fetched
fresh sea water from Brighton
for a guest’s evening bath, and
even arranged the buying of a
battleship for another guest who
wanted a souvenir of distinction.
Michael is known for his winning
smile, exceptional manners and
incredible memory – he never
forgets a name.
He prides himself on always
being immaculately presented,
with every button of his uniform
polished to perfection.
