STEP SEVEN
Unlike the original bushes, which were fitted by a robot in a
German factory, the new replacements are split in two, so are
much easier to fit. You may need to use a bit of help from a vice
or hammer to push it into place - as well as the supplied PSB
lubricant. The lube also helps to prevent squeaks.
STEP EIGHT
When both bushes have been fitted you need to re-fit the
front arm. Start with the bottom pivot bolt and then the front
and rear wishbone bolts - they are the same 21mm ones we
removed earlier. Do them up FT. (When I first started writing
step-by-step features many years ago - I had no idea what
FT meant - I thought it was something technical - and it took
several features before I actually bothered to ask!)
STEP NINE
Now we are going to swap the anti-roll bar bushes. They
are available in a selection of sizes - so make sure you have
measured and ordered the right one in advance. The bushes
are secured in place by a U-shape bracket held in place with 2 x
14 mm spline bolts.
STEP TEN
The bracket comes off with the bush still in place, so just pop
it out. There’s is no need to clean the bracket or use lube. Just
pop the new bush over the bar, add the bracket and do it up
again.
STEP ELEVEN
Finally move across to the other side of the T6 and do exactly
the same. Replace the plastic undertray and the wheels and
then it’s time for your tracking session.
