required. The pick-up bed has
been modified to safely house a
Honda Dax bike. This was a 49cc
machine until John got his hands
on it, now uprated to 98cc needless
to say it goes a lot better. There’s
also room in the bed for John and
his partner Jade’s bicycles, when
they aren’t reclining in the double
hammock that can be suspended
from the top that is. John does have
a habit of selling things, the thing
is he’s not worried so much about
the money, but he’d rather sell to
the right person and someone who
he feels will look after his builds.
John has a couple of vans he wants
to get on with, which includes
converting his old Bay window
to a diesel engine and a 1965 Split
Screen that was also Jeff’s. So with
another of his old man’s trucks on
the ‘to do’, list maybe, just maybe,
this one might be up for grabs.
While he was making
things John put together a
roof rack for the cab, the
wood slats are made from
an old bunk bed frame
made a custom carpet specially,
as he’d never been asked for one
for a Doka before. The double din
head unit is wired up to a pair of
uprated speakers, in the dash and
another pair of 6x9’s in the rear.
There’s also a 2000-watt amp and a
10-inch sub in a custom-made box
under the back seat. John made a
baseball bat gear lever for Woody
and has replicated it for this van.
He added some “The Saint and
the Sinners” graphics to it, based
on the series of novels by Leslie
Charteris. The bat is removable
and so is a very extreme form of
security device too. Under the
hood John installed a turbo set up
along with an intercooler to give the
2.4 engine a few extra horsepower,
this has made the truck a little
easier to drive, plus with a tow
bar added the extra power would
come in useful should towing be
And I’d like to thank:
Mark at Fat Bob’s Emporium
Kalib & Dotion for all their hard work
And Jade for her continued patience and support.
