elevating roof was then added and it’s
a Teahupo’o design too. The interior
then received the usual ply lining and
Veltrim, before a 15mm thick floor
was laid. The rock and roll bed is
also the company’s own model and
is very simple to pull out and return
to the upright position, this is all
thanks to Russell and Lisa’s unique
research and input into the design
and development. The bed can be
mounted at any point in the rear of
the van, although nearer the back is
encouraged as then it can be used as
a rear facing sofa too, if you have a
view you want to enjoy in comfort,
although this was originally done
to maximise the on-board storage
and access to it. The bed can be even
secured to a rail system too for total

on to his customers. Meaning he
is able to offer vans like this one
which is top of the range and had
only delivery mileage on it for a
very reasonable price. He can get
older models and others with a

which is VW’s Comfort version
and so was retained for obvious
reasons. The roof was cut out and
all the exposed bare metal in the
vehicle covered with a two-part
foam insulation that has both
thermal and acoustic properties. The

in the surfing world as “The End
of the Road” as the waves literally
break at the end of the local paved
road. In a poetic moment, Russell
and Lisa chose it as the name as
they felt that their customers will
find them at the culmination of their
search for a convertor, or indeed at
the end of their own road. We first
featured a Teahupo’o conversion
back in Issue 22, it was a van that
they had built for a customer. This
one however, is the company’s latest
demonstrator, the last one was
sold after Russell had completed
a trip to Trogir in Croatia, when
he was approached by someone
with a large enough bag of cash.
This 2018 150bhp Highline T30
Kombi is fitted with a tailgate, air
conditioning in addition to cruise
control and VW’s DSG (Direct
Shift Gearbox) automatic box. It
was sourced from Russell’s trade
supplier and as he has bought so
many, he unsurprisingly receives
a decent discount which he passes
