all the power from under the
newly vented bonnet.
In April of 2019 James was at
Santa Pod with four other T17
runners and completed a pass at
89.8 miles per hour which gave him
an elapsed time of 16.009 seconds,
pulling him back up the table from
thirteenth to tenth overall. If your
Transporter goes fast or you’d like
some advice on how to make it
haul a little quicker you can find
more information at the website,
http://www.T17.club, or find the group
on Facebook.  Be careful though,
you might get the bug too...
Remember if someone
suggests that you buy a van from
a Japanese manufacturer, it’s
better to be fast, not furious.

6s in the fully customised door
cards and a 10-inch sub under the
double passenger seat. The twin
U5A amps are controlled by a Helix
DSP.2 Pro, allowing switchable
zones between the cab when driving
and the rear when camping and
watching the 21-inch drop down TV.
Recently, James has turned his
attention to the brakes, he spent
so long making the van quicker,
he’d neglected to make it stop.
He’s upgraded from OEM to a set
up that includes some custom-
made two-piece monsters, with
bespoke 4-pot calipers, created
by BG Developments. Although
much bigger than the originals,
they are half the weight and are
perfectly capable of stopping
