its responsibilities, however, given the
on-going non-compliance and the
various governance issues acknowledged
by the association’s management
committee, it is in the best interest of the
members and the NT community for me
to appoint a statutory manager,” Ozolins
said in a media release.
“Members of the management
committee have ceased to hold office.”
Well-respected chief executive and
driving force behind the association’s
success, Liz Martin, has stepped down.
A new committee formed by the Alice
Springs business community consists of
Wayne Thompson, Jamie de Brenni, Grant
Whan and Brendan Heenan to ensure
that this year’s event, starting on August
23, goes ahead as planned.
Batt says she offered the RTHS general

manager’s position to well-known
Territorian Lester Hamilton, recent
past owner of the award-winning Alice
Springs business Brumby’s. Hamilton
accepted and commenced in the
position on August 6.
“Deloitte’s have been working hard
to ensure the financials of the RTHS
are brought up to date and to ensure
regulatory compliance,” Batt says.
However, Batt says she has received
assistance from Liz Martin, with the help
of the new committee, to formulate a
budget for the 2019 event which starts
on August 23.
“Sponsors have confirmed their
commitment to the event and I am very
pleased to confirm that the Reunion will
be taking place as planned,” Batt says.
“I am continuing to become
