SEABROOK, Texas _ The 2019 Keels & Wheels Con-
cours d’Elégance was held May 4th and 5th at the Lakewood
Yacht Club under majestic 100-year-old oak trees and adja-
cent to the scenic harbor. After a week of seemingly never-
ending storms, including a tornado warning the night before,
Saturday dawned clear and perfect. It was a welcome break
for an event that attracts entries from some of the country’s
foremost collectors, including the Mullin Collection, and the
Peterson Museum, and more than 10,000 spectators annually.
The charity event benefi ts Boy’s and Girl’s Harbor and the
event has donated more than $1.7 million to charities since its
founding in 1996, with another sizeable donation planned for

this season. The 2019 master of ceremonies was noted adven-
ture author Clive Cussler, who exhibited his stunning 1919
Locomobile six-fender town car. Chief honorary judge for this
year was Kip Wasenko, former head designer for the Cadillac
division of General Motors from 1997 to 2007.
There were 180 stunning cars on the fi eld with awards in
44 classes including several special awards; Mayor’s Choice,
Media Choice and Chairman’s Choice. “This year we had in-
credible array of cars included examples from the early 1900s
to muscle cars, American ’50s and ’60s classics, street rods,
Ferraris, pre- and post-war American Packard’s, Ford GT40s
and supercars,” noted Concours Chairman Bob Fuller.
