MadamVis a 3.6-literCadillacDOHCTwinTurboV-6that
cranksout 464 hp.AlthoughtheMadamV retainsmostofthe
ATS-Vexhaustsystem,a custommadeFlowmasterstainless
steelexhaustsystemaddsa performance exhaustnote.Two
otherRingBrotherssponsors—RoyalPurpleoilandPrestone
anti-freeze—alsohavetheirproductsinthiscar.
MadamV retainsmanyofthehigh-techfeaturesfromthe
2016 ATS-V,includingtheinformationandmediacontrolsys-
temwithitsfull-colordisplay,a rearvisioncamera,Push-to-
starttechnology,rain-sensingwindshieldwipersandeventhe
OnStarautocrashresponsesystem.
In additiontotheengineeringknowledge that wentinto
blendingthe 1948 sedanetteandthe 2016 model,Ringbroth-
ersaddeda numberofcustomfeaturessuchastherearview
andsideviewmirrorsanda roof-mounted360-degreeGentex
camerathatis integratedintothesatelliteradioantenna.The
1948 bodyrolls ona set of 19 x 8-in.18P204HREforged
wheelsupfrontanda pairofsimilar-design 20 x 11.5rimsin
therear.Wrappedaroundthemare245/45/19MichelinPilot
SuperSporttiresupfrontandmatching325/30/20sat therear.
To fi nishthecarandhighlighttheenormous amountof
bodywork,theexteriorwasfinishedina BASFGlasuritcolor
calledViviWhite.
“Typically whenwebuild a classiccar,wegetridof as
manystockcomponentsaspossibletomakewayformodern
orcustom enhancements,”said MikeRing.“This waskind
oftheopposite.WekeptasmuchoftheATS-Vaswecould
becauseGMdesigned it sowell.”JimcalledtheMadamV
project“areallyuniquechallengethatrepresentsa totallydif-
ferentwayof workingforus,so wearereallypleased this
workedoutintheend.”
When theMadamV madeits debut in theFlowmaster
boothattheSEMAShowonNov.1, 2016 it waslikea mod-
ernbarwrappedinthebodyofa classic. The 1948 Cadillac
bodypanelswereextensivelyandexpertlymodified,but the
underpinningsandinteriorwerethoseofa newATS-V.
Theinterioris prettymuchthestockATSV interiorwith
allofthemoderndrivingamenitiesretainedforenhanced
comfortandconvenience.
