THE WEATHER SEEMS TO BE INDICATIVE of my mood,

I observe one particularly gloomy day at work. Soon

it starts raining heavily, and I tell myself that it’s time

for me to let go as well. So, I drive myself through

the pouring rain to The Westin Gurgaon.

Known for its seven pillars of well-being, the hotel

is one of the most accessible hubs of wellness in the

city. And its spa, Heavenly Spa by Westin, is reputed

for the authentic and innovative treatments it offers.

I’m pleasantly surprised to find that there’s a special

promotion on offer at the spa—Spirit of Summer—

that makes use of fresh fruit in all its offerings. Always

up for new experiences, I decide on a fruity scrub and

a deep-tissue massage (my favourite).

Soon, Onerise, my therapist for the day, leads me

to a spacious spa suite with a rose petal-filled Jacuzzi.

She asks me to choose from stones marked ‘Gratitude’,

‘Hope’, and ‘Love’, and I choose to meditate on hope

through my experience. The soothing aroma and soft

lighting lull me into a relaxed mood as I change into

the robe. With my clothes, I vow to let go of stress and

be positive. The affirmation helps enhance the rest of

the experience for me, and soon after a foot cleansing

ritual, I lie face down waiting for the scrub to begin.
