The Australian artist Maggie Baxter has

worked in India with traditional artisans

for over twenty years. In this exhibition,

she attempts to translate her preoccupation

with heavily textured, paint-flaking, pock-

marked walls into artistic expressions, us-

ing embroidery as a medium. These works

use various iterations of stitches, such as

Kutchi embroidery, uneven scrawls and

scratches in thread.
