REBECCA’S COMMENT

For our first portrait,

we asked our model,

Chantelle, to sit on the bench in

front of a large window upstairs,

with lovely light, and white

surroundings for a clean shot. Generally for these

portraits, I set my shutter speed to around 1/

sec to overcome any motion blur in people or

camera movement, and my aperture to around f/

to blur the background. Although using a fixed focal

length means you don’t have the freedom of a

zoom, our large house location was very spacious,

so there wasn’t a problem if we needed to ‘zoom

with our feet’ to stand back or move closer.
