FANTASTIC CANON PHOTOGRAPHY
(^06) PREPARATION IS THE KEY INGREDIENT

Nathan explains, “I created this image in
my kitchen using a few household items,
an empty can and fresh tomatoes. The
tomatoes were suspended against a black
background using black thread”.

Julia’s shot is full of beans and depth too!
The moody black background works well,
providing a clean backdrop so the hessian
sack and coffee cup get the viewer’s
complete attention. The single light source
works really well too, creating some gentle
catchlights on the beans and highlighting
the rim of the cup.

Simon’s brought a strong autumnal feel
to this food still life setup by shooting with
items and ingredients that have a brown,
yellow or orange tint and has laid a few
leaves around the chopping board too
which is a nice touch.
