INSPIRATIONS
(^09) STRAWBERRY BY DEBBIE LAVERELL
Debbie’s still life food setup is beautifully
simple, interlocking two metal forks and
placing a strawberry on top of them. The
punchy red strawberry adds a good kick
and stands out from the blue background,
which she expertly set up as an infinity
curve to avoid harsh lines appearing
behind her focal point.

We love this shot from Barbara for it’s
interesting depth that shows three
cherries falling gradually out of focus,
but what makes it even more impressive
is that it was taken on a Canon compact!
She tells us, “I wanted to challenge myself
to get a good food picture with the macro
mode on my 4Mp Canon PowerShot, and
proceeded to take the image as if I was
using my DSLR. I used natural light and a
black cardboard background to keep the
composition clean and uncluttered”.
