invited him on a whim! She couldn’t
believe it when Brad actually showed up,”
says the insider, adding that the pair
stayed in touch and eventually began
having low-key dinners at Jen’s house.
“They love hanging out on the patio,
listening to music and talking about life.”
But during a recent meetup, things
turned serious. “They started talking
about their marriage and what went
wrong. Brad let Jen know how sorry he
was for everything that happened, and
told her that if he could take it all back, he
would,” shares the insider, explaining that
it was exactly what Jen needed to hear.
“It made her realize that it’s truly time to

put the past aside and to start seeing Brad

fully for who he really is, a nice guy who

messed up royally.”

But Brad’s not the only ex Jen’s

found peace with. On July 28, she and

Justin were brought back together to

mourn the loss of their beloved dog,

Dolly, who even played a part in their

wedding ceremony. “Since their split,

Jen’s been holding on to a lot of pain

and resentment. She always felt like

they had unfinished business,

especially when it came to the end of

their marriage,” explains the insider,

noting that Jen wasn’t a fan of “the

playboy lifestyle” Justin started to live

after their breakup. “But as they said

goodbye to Dolly, Jen realized that

none of that mattered anymore. She

decided it was time to let go of the past

and focus on the future.” Justin agreed.

“They spent the day crying and

consoling each other until the morning

hours,” adds the insider. “It was a really

beautiful thing.”

With both of her exes back in the

picture, friends can’t help but wonder if

things will turn romantic. But Jen’s

shot the speculation down. “She’s at a

place in her life where she doesn’t need

a man,” explains the insider. “She’s

worked hard to get to this point and has

no interest in ruining that. She’s

focusing on herself.” OK!
