Ikat patterns are a

striking way to jazz up a
card – here are four ideas ...

Die-cut Ikat

By Cindy Gilfi llan

Give your favourite solid die-cuts a new look by stamping
them with Ikat images or cutting them out of Ikat paper.
METHOD
1 Stamp Avery Elle Ikat background over the right-hand side
and across the bottom of folded turquoise card 305mm x
110mm using Memento Bahama blue ink. Add white gel pen
to the centre of each design.
2 Stamp Simon Says Stamp Expressions for You ‘will do
amazing things’ in the bottom right-hand corner of white
card 140mm x 100mm with black ink. Affi x this to the card
front on an angle with mounting tape then trim the
overlapping edges.

3 Stamp ‘you’ on separate white card with dark blue ink, cut it
out and mount it above the other words.
4 Die-cut a Memory Box Woodland branch out of brown card
and four My Favorite Things sheltering tree & leaf trios out of
turquoise card. Shape the leaves and glue them all in place.
5 Die-cut a Poppy Stamps Serene Bird out of watercolour and
navy blue card then stamp Ikat border all over the
watercolour bird using Memento nautical blue, ladybug and
Adirondack watermelon ink. Affi x the navy bird behind it,
offsetting them to give a small shadow then secure to the
card with mounting tape.
