Located less than a half-hour away, the town of Lititz traces its begin-
nings to 1756, when members of the Moravian Church settled here, naming
it for a castle in Bohemia, the area where the religion has its roots. Downtown
encircles the crossroads of Main and Broad Streets, where dozens of diverse
shops and eateries offer patrons a smorgasbord of choices. Pumpkins, mums,
and shocks of hay decorate storefronts—a welcoming reminder of the season—
and historical buildings lend a timeless character. Each morning, guests at the
Swiss Woods Bed & Breakfast gather around the enormous sandstone fi replace,
sipping coffee and making new friends, as they plan a day spent exploring the
myriad points of interests this tranquil portion of Pennsylvania has to offer.

Though located in Lancaster County, Swiss Woods Bed & Breakfast has the
ambiance of an alpine retreat, with cozy accommodations bearing such names
as the Lake of Geneva Room and the Matterhorn Suite. Book-loving innkeepers
Debbie and Werner Mosimann have collected a wonderful cache for guests who
wish to curl up before the fi replace for an afternoon of reading.
