The Dubai Chamber
of Commerce and In-
dustry has partnered
with DP World UAE Region to
collaborate on the Digital Silk
Road, a Dubai 10X initiative
which is expected to be launched
by 2020, reports Tahawul Tech.
The smart digital platform
Digital Silk Road uses blockchain
technology to increase the trans-
parency and efficiency of supply
chains through a comprehensive
automation process in an attempt
to reshape the global trading sys-
tem and eliminate trade barriers.
According to DP World and
Dubai Chamber, these trade bar-
riers include high costs, lack of
transparency, diversification of
legislation and lack of security
in business transactions.
The MoU was signed by Hamad
Buamim, president and CEO of
Dubai Chamber of Commerce
and Industry, and Mohammed
Al Muallem, CEO and managing

Chamber, and we look forward
to working with our partners to
develop a game-changing digital
platform that will drastically im-
prove and simplify trade processes
and procedures,” said Buamim.

our efforts to support the objec-
tives of the Dubai Plan 2021, while
it also complements our current
initiatives that aim to reduce busi-
ness costs and enhance economic
competitiveness,” he added.

SirajPower goes live with solar

rooftop for RSA-TALKE

SirajPower has
announced the
installation of a
solar power plant on the
premises of RSA-TALKE,
the chemicals-focused
subsidiary of RSA Global.
The installation is located on
the rooftop of RSA-TALKE’s
non-dangerous goods chemi-
cal facility in Dubai South. It
is the fourth solar power plant
installed by SirajPower on a RSA
Global building since the signa-
ture of the fully financed leasing
scheme two years ago, which at
the time made RSA the first to
go solar in Dubai South.
The new agreement with
SirajPower includes the instal-
lation, financing and operation
of a 1 MWp PV system on RSA-
TALKE’s warehouses, under a

20 years leasing scheme.
The plant will cover more
than 78% of electricity con-
sumption, saving 1,100 tons
of CO2 from the first year of
operation.
“At RSA Global, sustainabil-
ity is at the forefront of every
decision we take as a business
and across all our affiliates,”
said Abhishek Ajay Shah, co-
founder and group CEO of
RSA Global. “We embarked
on a green journey with Sira-
jPower two years ago following
our first solar rooftop deal,
and became pioneers in our
industry.”
Laurent Longuet, CEO at Sira-
jPower said: “Our long-term
partnership with RSA Global...
demonstrates the value of the
unique service we provide in the

market and the trust our team
has been able to build over the
past few years.
“We see a big push towards
solar in different sectors of the

market including logistics. The
buildings of these companies
consume a lot of power, thus
making an impact on their carbon
footprint is becoming inevitable.
