major challenges for us because of the heat, so what we
do is we pre-ship before the summer and hold excess
stock so that our operational costs aren’t affected,”
explains Ismatullaev. “We do this because during the
summer, delivering products to some regions becomes
more expensive and more risky in terms of damage to
the products.”
Another challenge that WDC overcomes on behalf
of its clients is the different local laws and regulations
of the various markets in which it distributes. “There’s
no easy fix for this,” says Ismatullaev. “Since we’re an
international company we operate in many countries and
each country has its own rules and regulations and they
change a lot. There’s a great frequency in new regulations
and we have to follow it. But we keep the manufacturers
updated so that their in-house manufacturing centers
to do up-to-date labeling for each country.”
In some countries local registration of products
can also be a challenge. “In some countries they bring
in a lot of new regulations and we have to re-register
the product, which can take time and delay delivery
to retailers,” explains Ismatullaev. “This is one of the
great things about being based in Dubai, because the
regulations here are catered to logistics to make it more
efficient and easier to reach the market.”
