LINEAR-PULL
BRAKES PROVIDE
BETTER STOPPING
POWER THAN
CANTILEVERS.

THE BROOKLYN LORIMER is an urban bike that comes
with the basics you need for spinning around
town, with a few extras that make the journey a
little more enjoyable.
Comfort features include a wide saddle that
gives you more rear-end real estate, easy-to-use
Shimano EZ Fire Plus shifters, comfy ergo grips,

and all the eyelets you need for adding racks, fend-
ers, and a kickstand. There’s also a Shimano 3x8
drivetrain, puncture-resistant 700x32mm tires,
and a double-butted steel frame and steel fork. It’s
a really nice group of parts for a bike at this price.
Even with its fairly narrow tires, the Lorimer
holds steady on slippery gravel and dusty roads, as
long as you keep your momentum going. And with
48/36/26 chainrings and an 11-32 cassette, the
Lorimer is sure to have the gear you need—and

even some you don’t—for making it up climbs and
cruising alongside traffic.
Think of this bike as a mash-up of a beefy-
tire urban bike and an upright city model. It can
descend on loose gravel or slog through a stretch
of swampy sewer water (fenders!). It can also be
your city bike for bar-hopping, lunch runs, and
sightseeing. Mostly, it’s a cool, reliable, commuter
and fitness bike that’s happiest on pavement, hard-
packed gravel paths, and park loops.—Jen Sherry
