Just a few ways this three-
layer Gore-Tex jacket has
saved my ass:
∫ Kept me so visibly dry
and cozy during a freak
hailstorm that my riding
partner, clothed in a super-
light, roadie rain jacket,
looked over and said envi-
ously, “I need a real rain
jacket like that one.”
∫ Shielded me from wild
gusts and fat drops while
I was setting up camp,
then looked casual enough
and provided full coverage
(hooray for the hood!) so
I could keep hanging by
the fire for hours, even as
squalls passed through.
∫ Stuf fed small enough
to fit into my fanny pack
for spring trail rides that
