Nissan Frontier Destination

and Ultimate Parks Titan

T

he Overland Expo West happened in Arizona and
Nissan brought out a one-of-a-kind Nissan Frontier:
the Destination. Nissan is basically giving you the instruc-
tion manual on how to build an overlanding Frontier for
about $40,000. This one started as a ’19 Crew Cab SV
in Midnight Edition form and gained a 3-inch Nisstec lift;
Hefty Fabworks bed rack, bumper, skidplates, and sliders;
Nitto Trail Grapplers with American Racing AX201 rims;
Warn winch; Baja Designs lights; Rhino Rack tray; and
more. The automaker said this build was to “democratize
the overlanding experience by showing a more affordable
approach to the sport.”
Nissan was also busy on the Titan side of things. The
Grand Canyon reached its 100th year as a national park, so
Nissan built the Ultimate Parks Titan, which will be donated
to the Grand Canyon Conservancy and go on assignment
for the Canyon Field School, which gives young people

exposure to the great outdoors
within Grand Canyon National
Park. The truck will also be
used to help repair trails and
sections of the park. It’s a ’
Titan XD PRO-4X Crew Cab,
featuring items such as an Icon
3-inch suspension coupled with
Hellwig air suspension, Nitto
Trail Grapplers with Method
701 Trail Series wheels, Baja
Designs lighting, Warn winch,
Rhino Rack awning and tray,
and a Black Series Camper
off-road trailer.

Is It True?

 The upcoming Ford Ranger
Raptor is internally called P703?

 Jaguar Land Rover will give
owners cryptocurrency in exchange
for sharing data via technology
installed in their vehicle?

 Honda sold more vehicles with
manual transmissions in 2018 than
it did in 2017?

 Bentley has released limited-
edition books for its 100th
anniversary, including the 100
Carat, with 100 carats of diamonds
and a white gold or platinum
Wings badge? And while each
level of book is spendy, that one
is $250,000? And there’ll be only
one available per continent so you
better...hurry?

Lyft is going to open collision
and service centers?

 Enterprise rental-car agency is
trying out subscription services like
the automakers? For $1,499 per
month? And you get to switch vehi-
cles a whopping four times for that
fee? If you’re in Minnesota, Nevada,
and Missouri, you get to go first?

GM is officially getting in the
electric-pickup game? Will it be
GMC or Chevy?

 Ford trademarked Bronco Scout?
And also Scout? Is that in the
public domain now?

 Here’s something you never
thought about until this very
moment: A study by Consumer
Reports showed that 1 in 6 Uber
and Lyft cars have an open safety
recall? “Among the tens of thou-
sands of Uber and Lyft vehicles
registered to operate in New York
City, there’s a 2011 Hyundai So-
nata GLS with eight unaddressed
safety recalls that range from a
potential seatbelt detachment to
even more alarming examples,
such as possible engine failure.”
