good one to add to the collection.
Okay, if you search hard and long
enough you will undoubtedly come
across each and every one of the
artist’s miniature masterpieces
elsewhere, but does that matter?
The clever thing about Herr Preis

is that he twists the truth with his
artistic skills almost as much as
Herr Reuters did before him, but
you are taken in ... hook, line and
sinker. A Preis world is populated
by small people, vertically
challenged individuals who make
a VW Truck (yes, this brochure
is for the US market) look BIG.
Take as an example the ‘VW Panel
Delivery’ (what?!) on page seven.
The Delivery Van is of gargantuan

proportions when compared to its
driver and the recipient of whatever
is in the process of being unloaded
... or the crew are definitely no taller
than 4’ 11” (sorry, we are in the US,
so no metric measurements apply).
Side along next to the
‘Volkswagen Pickup Truck’ and
think perspective. Herr Preis knew
all the rules. The further away
something is - in this instance the
Pick-up’s cab and the smaller it
