Volkswagen Camper & Commercial – August 2019

o be honest I thought
that I’d seen pretty much
everything possible at a
VW show over the past
couple of years, including some
things which I wish I could un-see.
However this year’s Dubs In The
Middle, now with an extra day
added over the May Bank Holiday,
added even more experiences to my
memory bank.
I don’t think they can ever top a
real live wedding which they held a
few years ago during the show, but
there were certainly new things this
year that I’ve never seen before.
The show was sponsored by Pure
Paint, Vantastic and PP Tuning.
On the Saturday evening they
introduced a speed-dating session
to the VW scene, which went
down very well, followed by Frank
Spencer dancing on stage to Bad

The 6th Dubs In The Middle VW Festival supplied everything you’d
expect from a top VW festival.
And so much more.

Manners and Madness - like you do.
I have no idea where or how Frank
fitted into the show’s theme of USA,
but it was very entertaining!
Obviously these new attractions
were in addition to the full
entertainment programme that I’ve
come to expect from this show over
the years, which makes it one of
my favourite events to cover. I’ve

actually been to every one since it
started.
There is a huge range of musical
entertainment, over 25 different
acts, from solo performers to
full bands, spread across 2 large
marquees. There’s a bike show,
a burlesque slot on the on the
Saturday, and the nights conclude
with the very popular silent disco.
