Although I’m not entirely certain
about the silent part with everybody
singing along to whatever track they
are having pumped through their
wireless headphones.
For 2019, to go with the American
theme, there was a Wild West live
action display and the largest dog
show I’ve ever seen outside of
Crufts. One owner had even painted
the Stars & Stripes on their confused
looking poodle!
As expected there was a funfair, a
bike show, a foam pit, face painting,
an auto jumble, fire juggling, SWAT
teams, hula-hooping... You name it,
it was all going on. Even ‘Dubs Got
Talent’ with a one hundred pound
prize up for grabs.
Of course the only problem with
so much happening, is that you
really do need to plan your days
carefully so that you don’t miss out
on anything. And occasionally that
might mean that you need a split
personality so you can be in two
places at the same time!
There was plenty of good food
and drink, and a good selection of
traders. It goes without saying that
there were clean toilets, showers
and plenty of space for camping.
Oops I almost forgot; there were also
loads of VWs, a vast range of both air
and water-cooled, including many
that have been photographed by me
for features in this very magazine.

framed photographdisplays on the Sunday were the
largest I’ve seen at a show in ages
with both quality and quantity. And
again many of the prize winners
were buses we have featured before.
I can think of at least five off the top
of my head. There was £250 up for
grabs for the Best in Show winners.
Yes, we know how to pick
winners, and this show is certainly
a winner too. Over the long bank
holiday weekend, money was raised
for two charities; Dog’s Trust and
Wallace House Community Centre -
