WORDS & PHOTOGRAPHS ANDYBUGS
The arrival of summer means that we get lots of invites to attend
both UK and European VW shows, so we have to take time out
of the workshop at least once a month.
This month in
(and out of ) the Workshop
T
he draw of the European
show scene appeals to
some more than others,
but some of my favourite
shows are in Belgium, and we just
can’t say no.
This month we attended two
Belgian shows which both lived up
to and exceeded our expectations.
We first went to Nazareth, a little
over an hours drive from the coast
which makes it easily accessible and
a stress free drive on quiet roads.
The show is in a small and very
friendly village that welcomes the
influx of a cross section of aircooled
Volkswagens from all across Europe.
The show is on Sunday but we
arrived on Saturday to set up and
to chat to the organisers over a
few beers. Sunday was a glorious
sunny day with both car parks full
to overflowing and packed with
vehicles, many that I have not seen
before on the show scene. I was
pleased to see that BBT were there
and had two of my all time favourite
splits; their original ladder single
cab and their 15 window Wolfsburg
factory works bus.
