the average length of that type of
project would be 3 or 4 weeks, again
depending on what was required.
At the moment the company
has work booked in between 3 and
6 months in advance, and that’s
pretty much all year around: “I
can’t grumble about business at the
moment,” admitted Lee.
So while you might have to wait
at least 3 months to squeeze a
major project into their workshop,
Lee says that they can always make
room for smaller jobs as they can
fit them around the bigger ones, so
it means there are much shorter

waiting lists for them.
With the order book looking very
healthy - and possibly even more
orders coming when this feature
is published, Lee is confident that
the company will be doing the same
kind of work for years to come.
It’s not just classic cars either

  • the team at ECR are also into
    their classic motorbikes and they
didn’t need much persuasion to pose
on their weapons of choice for a staff
photo; that’s Lee in the middle on
his Triumph with Adam on the right,
and Lewis (not a brother) on the left.
Of course both of the brothers own

    4. Proper
    air-cooled 911s
    were tiny little cars,
    unlike their water
    cooled brethren
    5. A Lotus Elan, I’m
    not sure about that
    drain pipe exhaust
    though
    6. RWD Escort’s
    are worth a fortune
    thanks to ‘scene
    tax’
    7. Ready for paint.

VWs - which is why we ended up
here in the first place as they both
have a camper that’s going to be
featured in this magazine - or has
already been featured - depending
on when this company profile is
published.
Lee owns a bay and Adam a 1962
split - or 11-window Microbus
if you want the full details, that was
solid when they imported it from
California, although it needed a
full restoration. Lucky that’s what
they do for a living! They have also
recently bought a panel van which
they are about to start restoring.
Keep an eye out for the features.
