Initially,theDavidsonsbothlovedaddingtothegardensat
Wallalong.Oneoftheirspecialplacesisthewalledenclosure
containingtheherb,vegetableandcitrusgardens,entered
viaa 200-year-oldJavanesewoodendoor.However,nowthe
businessesareata pointwheretherearebookingsmost
weekends,theyareoftendeployedelsewhere.Bernadette
looks after the marketing and is the main point of contact
forclients;Ianishandsonwiththeongoingrestoration
oftheproperties,aswellasmakingtheoddpieceofoutdoor
furniture,andmaintainingthegardens.
WhenevertheyhavetimetothemselvesatWallalong,
Bernadettesays,theytendtodosimplethings.“Welike
totakea strollacrossthelawnfromtheverandahandsit
intheshadebetweenthe200-year-oldMoretonBayfigtrees.
Fromtherewelookdowntothevalleyandriverbelow.”
“Aftera fulldayofjobs,watchinga vividsunsetatdusk
isa greatpleasure,”Ianadds.“Weworkharderthanwedid
inSydney,butit’sdifferentwork.It’sasthoughwecan’tstop
movingbecausewe’redrivenbytheloveofthisplace
