A Paleo paparazzo, Kendra Cardoza started her paleo
blog in 2014. Growing up with a sweet tooth, she started
paying more attention to healthy eating after a series of
health challenges within her family. First, her mother was
diagnosed with cancer; later, Kendra was diagnosed with
the autoimmune condition endometriosis, which required
serious surgical intervention. Then her husband Matt
suffered a stroke and had brain tumor surgery. Together,
they decided to take on a holistic lifestyle and nutrition-
based approach to healing. “I created Paleo Paparazzi as a
way to share my and my husband’s journey toward healing
our bodies, hoping to inspire others along the way and to
show that a lifestyle focusing on whole foods, self-care,
movement and a glass-half-full attitude can be powerful in
reclaiming health.

ABSOLUTE FAVORITE FOOD?

KC: Sweet Pocado (I just combined sweet potato and
avocados so I don’t have to pick!)

FAVORITE PLACE IN THE WORLD TO TRAVEL
FOR FOOD?

KC: Right now, it’s Israel. So much good, fresh food—
tahini, shakshuka and colorful salads at every meal! But
I continue to travel the world in search of new cuisines to
inspire my palate.

FAVORITE WORKOUT?

KC: Cycling with my husband. It’s basically getting to
play outside while calling it “working out.” The best kind
of workout is the one you don’t even realize you’re doing!

WHAT’S ONE THING YOU’VE LEARNED SINCE
YOU STARTED YOUR SITE?

KC: That real healing can come from food but it’s
never linear and food is only a piece of the equation.
We can’t forget the mental, emotional, and spiritual
facets of healing and health.
