A classic blue/pink
mophead with a point
of difference: flowers
feature petals that
curve inwards,
resembling those of
lilac. Leaves will stay
on the plant into late
autumn. Likes partial
shade. HxS: 4ft (1.2m).

H. quercifolia
‘Munchkin’
This dwarf oak-leaved
variety has good
flower and foliage
colour. Large blooms
open white and turn
dark pink, while the
leaves glow a brilliant
red in autumn; the
peeling brown bark
gives useful winter
interest, too. HxS:
3x4ft (90cmx1.2m).

H. macrophylla
You & Me Together
A container-friendly
member of the ‘You
& Me’ series, this
has double flowers
that form classic
mopheads from May
until autumn. They
will change from light
green through to pink
and violet in neutral
soils; to blue in acid
