of the candelabra can add extra sparkle to
the candlelight. The same could be done
for chandeliers too – although you’d need a
lot more beads! As a smaller (and cheaper)
alternative to a chandelier or candelabra, a
beaded tea-light candle holder is perfect for
smaller tables or for softer lighting.
Beaded placemats or coasters can jazz
up a table setting, and can be made in any
colour to match your theme. Spacer bars are
great to use as support for the mat or coaster
and they can be made in almost any shape
imaginable. You could also embroider beads
onto your tablecloths for a personalised feel,
or make a beaded table-runner to use as a
centrepiece or as the ideal backdrop for your
other beaded decorations.
Old fashioned jug covers are the best
way of keeping bugs and dirt out of drinks
outdoors and these can be given a modern
twist by using coloured threads and funky
shaped beads as weights.
Jugs and coloured bottles are great to hold
flowers and candles, and can be made prettier
by either glueing beads or flat-back crystals in
patterns onto the glass, or by hanging small
strands of beads in varying lengths around
the neck of the jug or bottle.

Candles can also be decorated – studs
in different shapes or containing various
coloured glass stones can be pushed into the
wax of the candle to add patterns, and these
can be re-used once the candle has burned
down. Ball-stud earring findings with loops on
them can also be pushed into the wax and
used to hang beaded drops.

DECORATIONS
Crystals are being used to embellish
everything at weddings, from dresses and
shoes, to hair and veils, and even cakes.
Some celebrities have had their cakes
decorated with Swarovski crystal to set them
apart, however Swarovski crystals aren’t
edible so they’d need to be removed before
eating! Beaded clusters could be added to
finished cakes as extra decorations, and if
the beads were kept in a bunch, it would
make removal much easier. Edible beads
could also be made with some icing rolled
into balls of varying sizes.
Beaded flowers, while time consuming
to create, can make wonderful keepsakes.
