After lunch at Surmuche, we got to kalche
before ending up down in Dogang, a beautiful
settlement consisting merely of a few houses,
animal shelters and 2 small guest house, of
which only one was open, right at the bottom
of the valley on the riverbank. After crossing
several precarious bridges, with very dubious
engineering and walking makeshift paths across
landslides hundreds of metres high, it was good
to be on relatively safe ground. We had aimed
to push onto Bedding, but after speaking to
several locals returning from Bedding who said
Bedding had snow up to their knees, we decided
to stay in Dogang and hope the early morning
