seriously bentinmischievous dimensions.

Lists.Anyone rebuildingaBSA like this one
should bewell ser vedwithbitsfor it ,because
lots of those bits aresharedwiththe similarly
oily-framedTriumphtwins,ofwhich thereare
aterrifying number,and which–asyou will
soon discover if youbuild your ownBeezer
–wererelentlessly developedforadecade
or so afterBSA’s nobl etwin faded into the
historybooks.
Thereare several stands.Iorderedone
using the partnumber from the BSAParts
Lists,soitwas plainly therightone.And,
because asyouknowIamadedicated
followeroft raditi on andconcours-level
detail accuracy, Ialsoordered thecorrect
newspring and thecorrectspecial pivot bolt
to suit.Whatcan be difficult aboutfitting a
sidestand?Anditneededfitting because I
wanted to remove the ruin from the benchto
makeroom foralittle slightly moremodern
fettling andto liberate the liftsot hatIcould
adjust and lube the drivechain on the
TriumphStreet Scrambler.
Many,manyfolk wail en dlessly about
the tendencyfor manufacturers nottofit
centrestands.Theygenerally see this as a
signofthese sa dtimes,asignthatThings
AreNot What They Used To Be,and stufflike
that. When Itireofthis, Iremarkthatour
1971 T100C does not have,and neverhad,
acentrestand,and that’saNoted Classic if
thereeverwas.Whatever. TheBSA needs
asidestand because it’s somehowmissing
one of itscentrestand frame lugs.Which
is especially unfortunate as Ifound and
acquiredagenuine NOS BSAcentrestandto
fitthe lugwhich is not there. Ishoul dhave
looked underneath beforeflashing thewallet,
plainly.Welive. We learn.Sometimes.
What can be difficult aboutfitting a

Of course it doesn’tfit. This is simply
irritating and isagreat reason on itsown
